Camp Culture

Parent Handbook

All families will receive a Parent Handbook at the start of camp. This handbook includes important information about our policies and expectations.

We kindly ask that families review the handbook and sign off on the following policies no later than June 24th:

  • Pick-Up & Dismissal Policy
  • Field Trip Authorization & Permission Form
  • Camp Culture & Behavior Policy
  • Payment Policy
  • Media Release
  • Medical Attention Release & Waiver

A completed contact form must be on file for each camper. This form helps us support their personal care and provides important medical information to ensure their safety and well-being throughout their camp experience. The contact form can be found under the Enrollment and Fees tab.

Your cooperation helps us ensure a smooth, safe, and positive experience for all campers.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children develop the skills to understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, make responsible decisions, and handle challenges in healthy ways.

At camp, we believe SEL is just as important as academics. By helping campers learn how to recognize their feelings, show empathy, communicate effectively, and work well with others, we’re supporting their growth both individually and as part of a community.

Focusing on SEL during camp helps each child:

  • Feel safe, seen, and supported
  • Build confidence and resilience
  • Develop stronger friendships
  • Practice kindness and problem-solving
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful camp culture

By weaving SEL into daily activities, we create a space where campers can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically—setting them up for success in and beyond the summer.

Creating a Positive Camp Environment

No-Nonsense Nurturing is a structured, caring approach to behavior management that helps students succeed by combining high expectations with consistent, supportive guidance. It is used to provide clear directions, calm redirection, and positive reinforcement, all while maintaining a warm, respectful tone. During summer camp, this approach helps create a safe, focused environment where campers know what is expected and feel encouraged to meet those expectations. The benefits include improved self-regulation, stronger listening and cooperation skills, and a more positive learning atmosphere. For young campers, No-Nonsense Nurturing builds trust and accountability—allowing them to thrive academically and socially during their time at camp.

Arrival & Dismissal

To ensure a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal each day, we ask that families follow these guidelines:

  • Enter and exit quietly and calmly through Door 3 to maintain an organized and welcoming environment for all campers.

  • Please avoid loud conversations, running, or disruptive behavior in the hallways or near the sign-in/out area.

  • All campers must be walked in and signed in by a responsible adult, family member or sibling each morning.

  • At pick-up, campers will only be released to individuals listed on their authorized pick-up form. Any changes must be submitted at drop-off or by 12:00 p.m. the same day.

  • No camper will be released to anyone not listed as an authorized pick-up contact. This policy is strictly enforced for the safety of all children.

Late Pick-Up Policy

  • Camp ends promptly at 3:00 p.m. for those not enrolled in after-care.

  • After-care ends promptly at 5:00 p.m.

  • Any camper not picked up by 3:30 p.m. (without after-care) or not picked up by 5:30 p.m. (with after-care) will incur a $25 late fee. This fee must be paid before the camper returns the next day.

Campers Behavior Expectations

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and focused learning environment for all campers. To maintain this standard, we expect all students to follow our camp behavior guidelines and demonstrate respect for others, staff, and themselves.

If a camper is unable to meet behavior expectations, the following steps will be taken:

  1. First, second, and third opportunities will be given to support the camper in meeting expectations.

  2. If challenges continue, a parent meeting with the camp director will be scheduled.

  3. If, after these steps, the camper is still unable to meet expectations, the camper will be dismissed from the camp.

Please note: No refunds will be provided if a camper is removed due to behavioral concerns.
Our goal is to ensure that learning remains the primary focus of our summer camp experience.
